Friday Night at The Pipe Shop — August 14, 2026

Summer Night Market - August 14, 2026

Some nights the story isn’t the sales — it’s watching a new product find its people. Friday at The Pipe Shop was one of those, and the star of the table was our Wiggly Pups and their brand new beds.

A Pup and a Bed

The dog beds quietly debuted at the Tears of Joy expo last week, but this was the night they really showed what they do. They’re little printed dog beds, sized to fit the pups, currently in five colours — and pairing them up transforms the whole thing. A pup on its own is a fidget. A pup curled into its bed is a scene.

The reaction was pretty consistent all evening: someone spots the pair, stops, and we get some version of “oh my god, how cute is that.” The pairing sells itself before we say a word, which is exactly what you want from a display piece. A pup plus a bed runs $12, and we’ve got dog houses and carriers in the works to build the little world out further.

We’re up to 16 breeds now, and the Husky and Schnauzer pulled the most attention on the night. Just as telling were the breeds people asked for that we don’t have yet — Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, and Airedale Terrier all came up more than once. When people start hunting for their own dog on the table, that’s the best possible signal for where the line goes next.

The Usual Suspects

Clickers did their steady thing, with the soccer ball design still riding the post-World Cup wave. No HueForge prints this week, but we did bring along the leftover hot sauce fidgets from Langley — and they caught plenty of eyes at a market with no hot sauce anywhere in sight. Second life for a product that took a year to find its audience.

Around the Market

The weather and the crowd were their usual summer-Friday selves — happy people, waterfront evening, no complaints there. Behind the scenes was a bit more eventful: a surprising number of vendors rolled in late, which had the organizer shuffling the layout on the fly to make it all work. From our side of the table you’d never have known, which is a credit to how quickly they sorted it out.

Looking Ahead

Next weekend is a double: we’re back at The Pipe Shop on Friday, August 21 for the next night market in our summer run — come meet the pups and bring your breed requests. Then it’s straight into Sunday, August 23 at WestCoast Comic Con for our second year at the show, with a table geared to that crowd. Two very different rooms in one weekend.
